Hi there, I am a wife, mother of 2 children (Son- Harrison 23 & Daughter – Reagan 19) and a woman that loves Jesus! I love to travel, be with my family and plan lots of social events regularly!! Socializing with others on a regular basis is my pure joy in life. I love living in Dahlonega, Ga, because it provides me such a peaceful and balanced place of community, where I have loved volunteering these last 10 years with our local County School Systems & UNG Alumni Community.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do (or did if retired)?
I am currently a Manager at Humble Abode on the Historical Dahlonega Square. I also have run my own antique booth, named Revived, for 9 years located at Antiques & Collectibles also located on the Dahlonega Historical Square. Previously, I was a Respiratory Therapist, Pharmaceutical Technician in Hemophilia, and most important job of all, a full-time Mom to two very busy athletes.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in our community and your favorite dish there?
My Absolute Favorite Restaurant is Picnic Cafe. I love to many items to mention, but the chicken dumplings, lobster bisque soup and caramel cake are the BEST!

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community? And if you moved here, where were you from originally?
I am from Spartanburg, South Carolina. I attended North Georgia College and graduated in 1993. Married my husband James G. Spivey, who also graduated from North Georgia College in 1994. We then served in the US Army for 25 years. We decided to move back to Dahlonega, Ga in 2014 to raise our family in this wonderful community.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community and why?
Julia Norton. She is the most loyal, truest, kindest and so very humble with all of her works with her family. friends and business life..She walks the Purest example of Christian Faith and so it is easy for me to learn from her everyday, and I find that to be the Best gift/blessing to receive. To know her is to love herđź’—

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Sweden and Ireland! We have been fortunate to be able to travel to Europe many times, these are the two I still want to explore.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies or TV shows?
My Absolute Favorite Movie is the Notebook! My Favorite TV show is Kelly and Mark!

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Be Authentic to yourself and others. Be kind with your words and actions always, you never know what impact you could make on someone, so make it a Positive One!

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
To visit the Northern Lights

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Early Jazz, I love all early time period Jazz music.!

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive or not alive today, with whom would you love to have lunch? Why?
Well, this is easy. My mom is who I would have lunch with today and share all the joy of life that I missed having with her. I lost her to Ovarian Cancer in 1983, I was 12 years old. Miss her every day, would so love her to meet my son and daughter, they look so much like her..

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Our community provides such a unique perspective of small town life with a Big Love of Support for others.

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
That I absolutely love to Interior Design/Decorate often and do it for family and friends for freeđź’—

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Italy! The areas that are authentic with less tourists!

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My Daddy, Husband, kiddos, and my best friends.

Q: Finally, what words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
PURE JOY, PEACEFUL VIEWS and RELAXATION!
