Amanda Bennett

Hi, my name is Amanda. I am married to Allen and have two boys, Thomas and Major. Thomas is a graduate of LCHS. Major attends LCMS. I love Jesus and my church family too. My weekends consist of college football (Go Dawgs) and Sunday church. On the weekdays you will find me at LBES. I am the secretary. I enjoy my job and serving the community.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do (or did if retired)?
I love being a part of LBES. I enjoy seeing our students and parents. It fills my heart to know that I can help someone.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in our community and your favorite dish there?
My favorite restaurant is Pueblos. I love their “house special”.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community? And if you moved here, where were you from originally?
My family and I moved to Dahlonega in 2007. Thomas turned 4 after we moved and Major wasn’t born yet. I grew up in Cumming, GA, graduating from South Forsyth High School.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community and why?
Oh goodness, so many people. Everyone has a story and I love hearing them!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies or TV shows?
When Calls the Heart on Hallmark.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
My advice to others….hmmmm….depends on the day. Currently, “be kind to everyone, you never know the battle the person beside you is fighting”.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Bucket list: Spend a Christmas vacation at the beach! My family is not on board, they all need to see Santa.

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
I love music. Praise and Worship: CeCe Winans. Country: Garth Brooks or Reba. Southern Gospel: The Crabb Family

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive or not alive today, with whom would you love to have lunch? Why?
I would have lunch with my Nanny. She instilled in me the importance of going to church. She taught me to follow Jesus. Listen to His small still voice. Man, alot of life has happened since she went to Heaven. I would love to just sit and chat and get a big hug.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
My favorite thing about our town in the heart. So many times I have watched the people of this town pour out love. You don’t find this kind of community and family everywhere.

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
HA! I have a CDL. This silly, nutty secretary can drive a school bus!!!

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
The most beautiful place that I have every seen is our mountain roads in the fall. I love to see the color of the leaves change.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
One, the Lord. I want my life to reflect His love inside me. Two, my husband, he is the calm to my crazy!

Q: Finally, what words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
When I think of home, I think of family and smiling faces of the ones I love. Home is wherever they are. I am so thankful it’s Dahlonega.
