I am a retired pharmacist, and grew up in Oglethorpe, GA. I love spending time with my family and friends, playing bridge, and watching the DAWGS!
I have two sons: Craig and Kyle. Craig is a Lt. Col. in the US Air Force, and he and his wife have six children. My younger son, Kyle, graduated from NGCSU with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Masters of Divinity at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife have two children with another baby girl due October, 2020.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I have been retired for 8 years. I really enjoyed my career as a pharmacist serving communities in North Georgia for 40 years. I started my career working for Dahlonega Pharmacy with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ledbetter and moved to Eckerd's Drug before I had the opportunity to build my own pharmacy in Dahlonega.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
There are so many excellent restaurants in Dahlonega, it is hard to choose just a couple. If I want barbecue, I go to Farm House Restaurant. If I am wanting vegetables, I usually eat at Smith House or The Wagon Wheel Restaurant.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived in Dahlonega for 47 years.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Mr. Leon Welch, because his knowledge and expertise comes from vast experience as a builder, electrician, coal miner, anda sailor in the US Navy. I enjoyed our many conversations over the years.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I had a cruise planned to go to the Mediterranean/Greek Isles in May of this year and it got cancelled due to the COVID-19 virus. I think I would reschedule that cruise.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Favorite Movie: Brian's Song. Favorite TV Show: Anything with a ball in it.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Making money to support your family is very important, but don't forget the time you spend with God and your family is equally or more important.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I would like to go on another cruise with my whole family. We went on a cruise together two years ago and had a blast.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
My college sweetheart. Just to catch up after all these years. We would dine at White Oaks Bistro.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
The beauty of the mountains, rivers, waterfalls and people.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I hope that I am alive playing bridge, going on cruises and playing with my grandchildren.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
My partner and I collected almost $25,000 for the 2019 Dancing With the North Georgia Stars to help support the kids of Enotah CASA.
