Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
We enjoy having a good time and hosting social engagements with other friends and family.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do (or did if retired)?
I love being a lawyer and will always practice law, but we are excited to be transforming the Tumlin House – Dahlonega property into a small wedding and events vineyard in the heart of downtown Dahlonega.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community and your favorite dishes there?
I dearly miss the Crown Mountain Cafe at the old Chestatee hospital, and always loved the Chicken Fried Chicken served up by Ms. Betty! Right now though, I wouldn’t pass up a seafood cobb salad from 19 Degrees North.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community? And if you moved here, where were you from originally?
10 years established in the community, but grew up in Murrayville and came back home after finishing UGA.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community and why?
The late Dr. John Raber, with whom I share a zest for life…and we both wore our fire red blazers with confidence!

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Africa on safari. Raw natural history on daily non-manipulated display.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A Time To Kill by John Grisham, which led me to law school.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Help others. Always. If you can.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
To Create a Craft Brew Industry in Dahlonega that compliments the Wine scene out in the county.

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
I like seasonal party music (Christmas, Mardi Gras, etc.), but when out of season, its either Alan Jackson or Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
The downtown Gold Meuseum, housed in the 1836 Courthouse, where the Supreme Court has once heard argument, and where I hope to one day try a simple case to a six person jury!

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
George W. Bush at the Dahlonega Resort, which I would have prepare a major tomahawk ribeye from local sourced beef. The man had great personality, humility, and served as President during the most devastating time period of my American lifetime.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
The age of the town, its history and its people. The Historic Public Square is king supreme throughout northeast Georgia.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Sitting on the superior court bench or serving in the state legislature…if we can ever get term limits passed.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I am deceptively good at YOGA!

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Collectively, northeast Georgia is unmatched. Specifically, Lake Como, Italy was spectacular.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
Probably September when College Football is actually in session. Christmas is the best holiday. And Independence Day/Thanksgiving Day are tied for best day on calendar.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Zooming into court for light lifting, which eliminates so much unnecessary travel.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My Wife and my daughters.

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Cowhide leather conditioner in my King Ranch truck.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Lake Lanier, The Vineyards, Downtown Dahlonega.
