Meet Toby Hopkins! Toby has been a resident of Dahlonega for over twenty years and is a chiropractor. Toby and his wife, Darleen live in Lumpkin County and they have two sons, Joshua and Jacob. I met Toby at his clinic in Dahlonega for this interview.
Question: What inspired you or led you to Dahlonega?
Answer: My Mom was visiting a friend in Atlanta and she came to Dahlonega on a day trip and just loved the charm of Dahlonega. She quickly decided it would be a great place to raise two boys. I was twelve when we moved to Dahlonega from South Florida. I met my wife in college and we decided to make our home, Dahlonega. I guess I had a wise mother!
Question: What is your favorite restaurant in Dahlonega?
Answer: I really like Foothill Grill. It has a great neighborhood feeling and the food is really good. You pretty much know someone when you go and the owner Jeff is one of the friendliest guys in town. Jeff and I both came from Florida, so that is a nice connection.
Question: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
Answer: It would be Manchu Picchu and the Swiss Alps. They are both intriguing and beautiful at the same time.
Question: What is your favorite movie or movies?
Answer: Strange Brew, Star Wars and Shawshank Redemption
Question: What is something most people or friends of yours might not know about you?
Answer: I play the drums. It is something I have done since high school and I have just kept it up.
Question: If you could choose anyone (Dead or Alice) to have lunch with, who would you choose?
Answer: That would be the drummer for the band Rush or Neil Pearl.
Question: What is your BEST advice about life?

Question: What do you like best about Dahlonega?
Answer: It is a great place to live, to raise your children and to have a business. The whole community is just that, a community. People are extremely friendly, and you get to know people and interact in their lives. In addition, the setting is awesome and inspiring in some way every day.
