Angie McClure

Born in Gainesville Georgia, attended Sardis Elementary and North Hall Middle and High School. North Georgia College for two years and Graduated from Brenau University with Bachelors in Criminal Justice and Public Administration then a Masters in Business Administration. I have been Married since I was 19 years old to David McClure.
I have three children and five grandchildren. My husband and I always had a dream to retire to cabin on the river. We sold our home of 31 years and moved to a log cabin on the Chestatee River in Dahlonega, Ga.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
They are my whole life! I have three beautiful daughters and three great Son in Laws. I have five grandchildren who are the greatest on earth!

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do (or did if retired)?
I worked for 20 years in the legal field, First 10 years with the Hall County Magistrate Court. Next I worked 11 years as a VP of Legal and Quality for Habersham Metal Products before leaving to run my own Industrial Distribution for 8 years.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community and your favorite dishes there?
Picnic Cafe – I love their coffee and Macaroons. Bourbon Street- I love several things on their menu.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community? And if you moved here, where were you from originally?
Originally from Gainesville and moved to Dahlonega Two years ago.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community and why?
My neighbors, specifically Eric Loske and family and Traci and JB Brady

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would love to go to London and see all the castles. I love old houses and antiques.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Dances with Wolves

Q: What advice would you give to people?
I am a born again Christian so I rely on God daily. He has protected my family and answered many prayers. My hope is that I could share that with others. I can’t imagine going through life without God.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
London

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Secular -Journey, Religious-Any quartet that has a live band. I miss live music with gospel singers.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
The Fudge Factory and Paul Thomas Candies

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Donald Trump and I would take him to Bourbon Street

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
The residents are proud to live here.

Dahlonega

Love to play the piano

Vancouver Canada

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
April because everything comes alive! My favorite holiday is Christmas. Best single day on the calendar is December 25th.
